The 5‑Minute Insight

See What’s Really Blocking You From Having What You Want

welcome,

If you’ve been feeling stuck, second‑guessing yourself, or wondering why things still aren’t moving, this is a good place to start.

You’ve thought about what you want, tried to work it out, and pushed yourself to move forward. And it’s still not here.

What you want matters.
There is also a reason it hasn’t happened …yet.

And it is likely not the reason you think.

Most people never get what they want, not because they don’t try, but because they never see what’s actually in the way.

In this 5‑minute insight, you’ll see a few key things:

  • what you say you want
  • what’s getting in the way of you having it
  • what needs your attention so things can move

There’s a short writing process that takes you through this so you can see it clearly for yourself.

There’s also a bonus step that brings you back into a more self‑trusting place, so you know what to do next.

If you prefer to listen, there are a couple of videos that walk you through the process and show you what your answers are revealing.

This is the same way I work with clients. It quickly brings the real pattern into focus, without overthinking or trying to figure it out.

If something in you knows it’s time, we can begin.

if listening feels easier...

Let me talk you through the steps in the Five‑Minute Insight, so you can get the most from the process.

Step 1. Start here

What do you want?

Be direct.
Not what feels realistic.
Not what you think you should say.

Ask yourself, “What do I actually want?”

If your answer starts as what you don’t want, turn it into what you do want.

For example:
not “I don’t want to be stuck in this job”
→ “I want work that feels energising and right for me”

Step 2. Reveal the block Holding You back

What is the worst thing about having what you want?

When you first hear, “What is the worst thing about having what you want?”, most people say, “nothing.” That’s normal.

Take a breath, and ask the question again: What is the worst thing about having what I want?

Write whatever comes up first. Don’t filter it. Don’t try to make it make sense.

Just write it.

Then ask again:

What is the worst thing about that?

Keep going.

Let each answer take you one step further. Most people need to repeat this several times before the real block becomes clear.

REMEMBER
You are not trying to get this right. You are following the thread. You’ll recognise it because it feels:

  • emotional
  • uncomfortably honest
  • or unexpectedly relief

That’s where the pattern starts to show itself.

An example of the method in action

1. What do I want?

“I want a promotion.”

2. What is the worst thing about having what I want?

“I’ll have more responsibility.”

What is the worst thing about that? (more responsibility)

“I might make mistakes.”

What is the worst thing about that? (making mistakes)

“People might think I’m not capable.”

What is the worst thing about that? (not capable)

“I’ll be rejected.”

What is the worst thing about that? (rejected)

“I’ll end up alone.”

what the example reveals

They want: A promotion

What came up as the “worst thing”: being judged, being rejected, ending up alone

When you put them side by side, you can see:

  • Part of them wants what they want.
  • Part of them is holding back due to fear or limitations.
When both are active, they pull in different directions. The pressure builds, and you hold yourself back from doing what feels right.

Give yourself a few uninterrupted minutes and write it out in full. Start with what you want. Then take that answer and follow it through by asking: “What is the worst thing about having what I want?” Finally, take a moment to reflect: What do I understand now that I couldn’t see before?

It normally takes around six or more repeats before you reach the real truth.

This step isn’t about doing or fixing. It’s about seeing the truth of what came up and letting the relief of that insight settle.

if listening feels easier...

Let me show you what your answers reveal, so you can see exactly what to do next with the block that’s been stopping you.

What Your Answers Reveal

This step is not about doing or fixing. It’s about seeing it clearly and allowing the relief and insight to land.

You may have touched a belief, fear, or emotional pattern that has been quietly influencing your choices for a long time.

  • I will be judged.
  • I will be rejected.
  • I will end up alone.
  • I will be too visible.
  • I will disappoint someone.
  • Or something else that is true for you.

You’ve just seen the pattern behind your stuckness, the part of you that has been trying to protect you, even if it has also been holding you back.

Take a moment and ask yourself: What do I understand now that I couldn’t see before?

Bonus Guided Process

Below is a guided step to help you begin releasing what has been holding you back.

Life changes quickly when you finally know what to work on. And if this pattern has been in place for a long time, this is where personalised attention becomes deeply supportive.

Stuck to Self-Trust

Take a moment to settle in. This time is just for you. Over the next ten minutes, this process will help you release what surfaced so your next step feels easier.

Thank you for filling this out

A big part of what we do together is building the skill of self‑awareness, the ability to see your patterns clearly and shift them in real time. Now that you’ve completed this questionnaire, we can go straight into the deeper work in your next session.

These answers give us a direct line to the real block underneath the surface, which means we don’t have to spend weeks circling the same territory. We can move straight into clearing what has been holding you back.

Please make sure your session is booked.

I look forward to talking with you soon,

sincerely, Claire
